AYLI Announces New Leadership Appointments in The Gambia
The Africa Youth Leadership Institute (AYLI) has announced two major leadership appointments within its Gambia Chapter as part of a broader effort to strengthen its operations and expand youth development initiatives across the subregion.
In a statement released by the Executive Director, Ambassador Christopher N. Touabli Jr., the organization confirmed the appointment of Ms. Mariama Saho as Country Director of AYLI Gambia and Leader Suna Jarju as Director of Program and Events Planning.
According to Ambassador Touabli, the appointments reflect AYLI’s commitment to empowering capable leaders who can drive impactful transformation in their communities. He noted that both appointees have demonstrated “outstanding dedication to youth empowerment and the values of the Institute.”
Ms. Mariama Saho to Lead AYLI Gambia Chapter
As the newly appointed Country Director, Ms. Saho will oversee the strategic direction and daily operations of AYLI in The Gambia. She is expected to provide leadership that strengthens the Institute’s visibility, fosters partnerships, and supports the implementation of youth-focused programs.
AYLI described her as a leader with “a strong passion for community development and a proven ability to drive organizational growth.”
Leader Suna Jarju Takes Over Program & Events Planning
Leader Suna Jarju, who now serves as Director of Program and Events Planning, will be responsible for coordinating all activities, trainings, and outreach efforts under the AYLI Gambia Chapter. Her role includes planning and evaluating programs aimed at empowering young people and enhancing leadership capacity nationwide.
Ambassador Touabli praised her commitment to excellence, saying her work has consistently demonstrated “remarkable organizational skill and an unwavering dedication to youth development.”
The Africa Youth Leadership Institute operates across several African countries, promoting leadership training, civic engagement, and youth-driven solutions to community challenges. The organization believes the new appointments will further strengthen its mission and improve its impact in The Gambia.
